Sub:- Procedure for issue of various types of Identity Cards for entry into Private SEZs under the jurisdiction of DC, MEPZ-SEZ.

The SEZ rules 2006 mandate that the entry of person into a SEZ should be regulated by the Development Commissioner through issue of Identity cards.

Last year Holograms were issued by this office to the Developers/Unit inside the Pvt SEZs for affixing in the three types of Identity Cards (Permanent/ Temporary/ Contract/ Vendor/ Security) which are printed and issued by the Develper/Units concerned.

The hologram are issued for a period of one year and validity of the Identity Cards having those Holograms expires on 31.12.2011.

There were representations from various Private SEZs in regard to the validity of the Permanent Identity Cards being issued to their employees.

It has now been decided that the validity of the Permanent Identity Cards ( Light Blue colour) will be for a period of five years instead of one year. The validity of the other two types of Identity cards i.e. Probationers/ Contract/ vendor/ security ( validity one year only) and Temporary ( validity three months only) shall remain unchanged, which may please be noted. The Developer/Units are directed to give a list of the permanent Identity cards issued by them by 31st of January' 2012 to this office as per the format enclosed ( in both Hard & Soft copy).

This issues with the approval of Development Commissioner, MEPZ-SEZ.
